Shukran is a low-fi documentary and the second chapter of "La parole transmise", a trilogy that using artistic practice created spaces of hospitality where the Jewish migration from Morocco to Paris and Montreal could be narrated and discussed. In June 2018 I was invited to Casablanca by the curator Mohamed Rachdi to show "5 vues sur 5 témoignages" - a collective documentary on the Parisian performance "Mellah", the first chapter of my trilogy. I used the projection to gather the points of view of Berbers, Muslims, and Jews Returnees on what was previously narrated in Paris. Shot only with a mobile phone so as not to influence the interviewees, Shukran is a video composed of feedback and second stories from the public and talks about the osmosis between cultures and how what I thought was a departure, is actually a story of political strategies, colonialism and postcolonialism. 

AlessioMazzaro (Italy, 1985) is an artist, environmental engineer and independent scholar interested in "narrative agency": from how our way of narrating a past event can influence our social relationships, to how we can influence the urban space through its narration. In his interdisciplinary and multilingual practice he creates space of hospitality where different lived experience can co-exist and he can observe what listening and telling a story with others can do.

Siege in the Air. Women in Indian-Administered Kashmir weave memory threads to piece together a narratorial picture of what it feels like to live under perpetual political uncertainty and unending cycles of lockdowns in Kashmir. The film lays focus on the recent communication blockade of 2019, post the Article 370 abrogation and what its impact was on the mental health, mobility, education, and desires of young women living there. Kashmir has had a contested political past being a disputed territory and the highest militarised region in the world. It has led to human rights violations, censorship and surveillance of all sorts that have made the everyday existence of the inhabitants of this territory extremely difficult and bleak. This film lays focus on the recent communication blockade of 2019, post the Article 370 abrogation and what its impact was on the mental health, mobility, education, and desires of young women living there.

Muntaha Amin. I am a researcher and an independent woman Film Practitioner. I identify as a Kashmiri Muslim Woman and tell stories from living this triply marginalized identity. My debut film, Siege in the Air documents lived experiences of young Kashmiri women in perpetual precarity and unending lockdowns in Kashmir centering around the communication blockade of 2019 post the Article 370 abrogation. I am working on my next film on gender and public space after receiving the Bitchitra Film and Documentary Fellowship 2023. Currently, i am pursuing my doctoral studies. I also work as a narrative editor, cultural consultant and film practitioner on other freelance projects as well. Siege in the Air premiered at various international film festivals in the country, received the Best Documentary Award at Himachal Short Film Festival (2022) and was long-listed for the Toto Awards 2023. I want to be a storyteller in whatever medium allows me to be. I believe "when forces are hell-bent-upon erasing the mere existence of certain communities altogether, remembering and telling one's stories become all the more urgent and necessary".
