Workshop | Creative Approaches to Memory USB G.003
Jul 03, 2023 10:00 - 16:00(Europe/London)
20230703T1000 20230703T1600 Europe/London PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP - Body Mapping

This body mapping workshop will be led by Linda Norris, Senior Specialist in Methodology and Practice at the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience (ICSC), and Aynura Akbas, Research Coordinator at the War Childhood Museum in Sarajevo.

In this day-long workshop, participants will learn about - and participate in - body mapping. These maps are powerful tools for individuals to reflect upon personal memory, trauma, resilience, and reconciliation. Building upon International Coalition of Sites of Conscience experiences in Bosnia and Herzegovina (with the War Childhood Museum), Sri Lanka, and elsewhere, we will explore both the why of body mapping but also the how. Please come dressed comfortably to work with art supplies on the floor! All supplies will be provided.

This workshop can accommodate a maximum of 25 participants and pre-booking is essential.

Book your place by selecting a (free) ticket for the workshop on our registration page: https://msa2023newcastle.dryfta.com/attendee-registration-tickets
